I love the choreographic pieces that are not merely confined to the “form”.
Especially the ones where the story behind the actions reveal itself later on, with the development of the narrative.
That is the case with “Subsurface”.

Nonchalantly,
Casually,
They start filling the stage.
One by one,
With intervals enough,
To casually change their outfit.
To transform into dancers
And start.
One by one,
Heading to the
Foursquare spots –
Dancing platforms –
Individually assigned
For individual training
With individual
handrails.
3 of those
Occupied,
The fourth has come.
Absorbed with themselves,
Them dancing their pieces,
She remains ignored
Until one of those
Quits.
Superseded
By the new,
Outsider
Stares
At the picture
Of 3 dance pieces.
Until her path is followed
And 3 staring faces
Are directed
At the newcomer.
_______________
The sand beneath them
Is scattered all over
The insanity starts
